Once a child completes the Bear Hug Brochure they can begin their handbooks. There are two handbooks: Hopper and Jumper. One year we work out of the Hopper book. The next year we work on the Jumper book. Everybody is in the same book at the same time. The only difference between 3 year olds and 4 year olds is that the older clubbers are required to recite the scripture references along with the verse.
The handbook should be brought to club every week. It has 24 Bear Hug lessons. It also has 6 Special Day sections that are found at the end of the book. These Special Day sections are optional for any extra days in the Awana calendar.
Your child is allowed up to two helps per verse. All cubbies will work from the same Bear Hug lesson and verse each week.
If your child has make-up verses from previous weeks, please attach a note to the handbook so that your child’s leader will know which sections your child is prepared to pass.
