The first week or two of club will be devoted to working with the children to complete an their Bear Hug Brochure. This must be completed before your child can receive their uniform, handbook, or trail patch. All new and returning cubbies go through this brochure each year.
There are four items that your child will need to learn in order to pass the Bear Hug Brochure and receive their handbook:
The Cubbies Key Verse: 1 John 4:10 “…God… loved us and sent His Son…”,
The Cubbies Motto: “Jesus loves me,”
The “A” Verse: “All have sinned…” Rom. 3:23, and
The “C” Verse: “…While we were… sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:8.
Within all materials is a line for the parent and the leader to sign and date each section. When your Cubbie is ready to pass a section, you sign the “parent’s signature” line. Your child’s leader will then listen to your child recite that same section in club and sign the “leader’s signature” line. At the completion of each section, your child will receive a sticker signifying that they have passed this. Stickers are a big incentive for this age group and they work hard to receive them! You will notice stickers and stamps throughout our entire program. It’s a fun way to motivate and reward these little ones for their hard work.
